ENCOURAGING LAY-PARTICIPATION

In many churches, 80% of the work is done by 20% of the people.  Many members are listening, learning, and growing but remain inactive.  Perhaps they don't know what they should do or how they would go about doing it.  Other members are "faithful in little" and are ready to be "entrusted with more."  By recruiting them as "teaching assistants" you can give them an opportunity to get involved in a teaching ministry.  They will gain experience in a ministry that they may have been unable to do on their own.  This experience can help them discover and develop their gifts – and you can experience the joy of launching other people toward a lifetime of fruitful service.
